Get Involved with Rotary Youth Exchange:

Host Families:  The Rotary Club of Renton is currently accepting applications from families interested in hosting an exchange student.  Click on the link above to read more about Ana Mulio Alvarez, our current inbound student from Spain who attends Renton High School for the 2010-11 school year.  If you live in another high school service area and are interested in hosting a student in the future please contact us for details.

Exchange Students:  The Rotary Club of Renton will be accepting applications from students wishing to participate in short-term exchanges during Summer 2011; or long-term exchanges during the 2011-12 school year.  Preliminary Interviews will be held by appointment only in mid November 2010.  Please refer to this Application Timeline for details and deadlines applicable to students at all schools.

Note:  Students who are currently high school seniors are not elligible to apply for the Rotary full year exchange program.  There is no "gap year" program available. There are no exceptions to this rule .   Seniors are elligible for the Summer exchange program and are encouraged to apply for that program if they would like to participate in a Rotary exchange this year.

Information sessions will be offered  for students at each of the high schools after school starts in the Fall.  Please listen to school announcements to find out when the session will be held at your school.  You may also check with the following staff member at your school for more information:

Hazen High School  October 2010 - contact Gail Ellis, Foreign Language Chair

Renton High School  - October 2010 - contact Giovanna San Martin, Vice Principal

Parents:  An information meeting for parents of students interested in applying for the program will be offered in mid November just prior to interviews.  Parents will also have the opportunity to ask questions during their student's interview.
