CAPER Auction

Renton Rotary CAPER Auction

CAPER stands for "Community Auction Promoting the Endeavors of Rotary."  These endeavors include our efforts to help fund many local charitable organizations as well as supporting the goals of Rotary International in its efforts to help those in need throughout the world.  It's possible that Rotary's effort to eradicate polio worldwide will be achieved this year!!!

A tradition of caring....
Since that first meeting in 1943 when 26 business people formed the Rotary Club of Renton, until today with over 120 active members, we have enjoyed a rich tradition of caring for our neighbors as close to home as Renton and as far away as Zimbabwe, Africa.  From the IKEA Renton River Days Rubber Ducky Race, raising over $15,000 to the Rotary CAPER Auction where we solicit items and cash valued at over $135,000, Renton Rotarians are proud of the significant impact we've had on our community.

A tradition of giving......to make a difference
M
oney Raised at annual CAPER auctions help  to continue our ongoing commitment to support local programs, which benefit residents and students throughout the Renton community.  Some of these projects include: College scholarships, Free RotaCare Medical Clinic, Warm Coats for Kids, Free Dictionary to every Third Grader, assistance to Communities In Schools of Renton, provide food to those in need through the Renton Rotary Salvation Army Food Bank, victim assistance programs, housing needs, teacher recognition and youth programs.  Renton Rotary also supports local arts and educational opportunities such as the IKEA Performing Arts Center and the new technology resource center at Renton Technical College, two tremendous resources that the entire community will benefit from for years to come.

Charitable contributions...
R
enton Rotary is able to distribute approximately $100,000 per year thanks to the generous donations of local residents and the Renton area business community.  Each year over 500 items are auctioned off at the gala annual CAPER auction with approximately 400 persons in attendance.  We hope you will help us this year by donating an item or service to our auction.  From condos in Hawaii to wine baskets, we welcome whatever you can do to support our efforts.  Donors are acknowledged in our auction catalogue and donations are tax deductible.

Together...We are changing lives...
