LOCALLY

 

SALVATION ARMY - RENTON ROTARY FOOD BANK

Renton Rotary donated $100,000 in 2005 to help construct this valuable community asset. People in need can select food items they enjoy and learn preparation skills in the demonstration kitchen.

  

ROTACARE FREE CLINIC

The RotaCare Free Clinic brings medical help to those who have the most need and least access to medical care. Rotarians, physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other volunteers provide this free medical care to the medically underserved at the Salvation Army Food Bank, every Saturday morning.

 

DICTIONARIES FOR 3RD GRADERS

Each year The Renton Rotary Club donates a free dictionary to each student in the third grade of the Renton School District.


WARM COATS FOR KIDS

The Renton Rotary Club buys over 1,000 coats for kids each fall in partnership with Operation Warm and Communities in Schools of Renton.

 

COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS

Each year, the Renton Rotary Club provides College Scholarships to students from all our local high schools and Renton Technical College.

 

 

 

REGIONALLY

 

ROTARY FIRST HARVEST

Rotary First Harvest is a conduit between farmers' surplus fruits and vegetables and hungry individuals and families in our region. Renton Rotarian volunteers sort, package and collect donations for this valuable regional service.

 

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

Renton Rotary helps Habitat for Humanity, build homes for hard working low-income families. This program is committed to creating simple, affordable housing by building and renovating houses in which people can live and grow.


MINI-GRANTS

Annually, the Renton Rotary Club distributes funds to various community organizations as a part of our service to the community.  We accept Community Service Mini-grant applications during a specific time frame each year. 

 

 

 

INTERNATIONALLY

  

POLIO PLUS

Working in partnership with nongovernmental organizations and national governments, Rotary is the largest private-sector contributor to the global polio eradication campaign, having achieved a 99 percent reduction in the number of polio cases worldwide. Rotarians stand at the brink of victory in global eradication of polio.


 

  

FUND-RAISING

 

CAPER

The Renton Rotary "Community Auction Promoting the Endeavors of Rotary" (CAPER) is our annual major fund-raising event. Through this effort we raise more than $100,000 annually to support our many charitable endeavors.

 

  

RUBBER DUCKY DERBY

Part of the Renton River Days community festival, the Rubber Ducky derby features thousands of Rubber Ducks floating down the Cedar River to the finish line. This activity earns thousands of dollars annually for local charities.
